Freshman Year
Regional Competition
Freshman year I worked with a group to create the video to compete in the on demand video category. To the right is our regional winning video for freshman year. Click to see video.

I participated in on-demand video again my sophomore year. We created this video around the theme of PSA announcement. We didnt win this year but we had a great time and learned more film editing skills. Click to see video.
Junior Year State Competition
VEX Competition
We had a decent year in robotics but we fell short of our goal of making state. We decided to enter our robot into the TSA competition as an alternative and we did pretty well. We could have gone a lot further but we had some problems with driving skills. My autonomous programs worked great once again, winning every autonomous match. It was a great learning experience, in the future we plan on making sure our driver is well prepared for every match so we can display our skills as a robotics program.

Architecture Design
This Year I worked with a group to compete in the architectural design category. At this time I was Still wanting to pursue a career in architecture. I have since decided to go after the growing field of robotics but the endeavor wasn't a total lost I picked up great design skills and learned some basic architectural CAD. I could still potentially use these skills when I take over my bosses construction company. The theme was tiny, portable house so we built a house using a shipping container shell. I helped with design and building the model. Unfortunately I have lost all the pictures from this event.

On-Demand video was a blast again this year. We created the video around this years theme of murder mystery. This year was especially fun because we implemented better technology during production and learned more about the film editing process. Click to see video.
COVID-19
Unfortunately TSA was canceled this year due to the COVID-19 outbreak that swept across the nation. We had fun creating the projects shown but we were disappointed that we were not able to finish them and take them to competition. TSA has been an amazing experience throughout my high school career.
This year I competed in the Structural design challenge at both the regional and state level. We built truss systems out of balsa wood with the goal of withstanding the most pressure. This challenge built upon the skills I learned from the truss unit in Principals of Engineering.
This year for one of my projects I teamed up with a group who also wanted to explore biotechnology through a TSA project. We came up with a solution to the massive dead zones that are found in our oceans due to the nitrate pollution. In order to combat this problem we choose to go back to the source, mainly storm and farm runoff, and use natural watersheds to soak up the pollution before it enters the water system. Biotechnology and technology in general have always been very interesting to me. I don't plan on majoring in the bio-engineering field but the principals as fairly universal and I was able to use skills I learned in Principals of Engineering and Introduction to Engineering to help us bring home first place.
This year for Biotechnology we set out to solve a problem in the sports world. High school sports are tough and hard on young athlete's bodies. This is partly because of the lack of technology used for treatment. We created a website and developed plans for an that coaches, athletes, trainers, and parents can use to log and monitor injuries. this will allow coaches to monitor players who are injured, give players a platform to get receive personalized treatment options as well as communicate with athletic trainers.
This year I also got group of robotics students together to participate in this years animatronics competition. The goal is to make a display that showcases a national park. We choose to do Glacier National Park. The display uses a system of mechanical and hydraulic systems to operate the animations. The system is controlled via a VEX brain that I coded to work autonomously. We also incorporated sounds using a sound bock and red LED lights in the bears eyes and a blue LED strip around the water.
